| History Key Stage 2 ~
Life in Roman Britain |
Setting
60 AD. The Boudiccan revolt. The pupils will take the
roles of Roman citizens and slaves during the Boudiccan revolt. From their
settlement, the pupils await news of the outcome, discussing the events
that led to this dangerous time in the history of Roman -occupied Britain
and the response of the Celtic peoples.
Workshops
History Off the Page will bring all the equipment and
materials needed to set up workshops in your hall. The atmosphere will be created by
using drama and role-play, facsimile items etc. The workshops often include: ink making, making scented oils and fresco painting.
Afternoon Session
During the afternoon session the pupils will experience a
banquet
which will celebrate the Roman victory over the Boudiccan rebels and
consider what
the Pax Romana might mean.
Details of this and further information about the day are included in a booklet which is sent out prior to a booking. All the History Off the Page providers are experienced teachers and storytellers who enjoy working with large groups of children. Generally there will be a story told during the day.
Costumes are available to order from Off the Peg.
