Non-threatening, non-humiliating drama Inset sessions for
both staff who love drama and staff who dread it. A relaxed balance of
practical ideas and exploring the reasons behind them. The sessions aim to
show the immense value of drama as a learning medium to approach different
areas of the curriculum; how to begin; how to plan; a wide range of
exciting, manageable, tried and tested ideas; dealing with difficulties.
As with the art Inset sessions, you can specify
particular issues you would like addressing, e.g. teaching history through
drama, approaching a specific topic through drama, improving language and
writing through drama, etc.
Sessions can also be led on writing and/or producing a
school play, and performance techniques.
‘Many thanks for the drama
Inset....Everyone felt that they had gained a better understanding of how
drama can be used as a teaching medium and that you provided helpful,
practical ideas that really do transfer across the age range.’
Muriel Will, Headteacher, The Reddings C.P. School, Herts.
In all cases clear, manageable methods will be shown and tried, classroom
organisation addressed, resources and books recommended, and reference made
to the work of relevant artists. The sessions are informal, practical and
relaxed, and offer a wealth of stimulating and exciting ideas for the
specialist and non-specialist alike. For more information
