Job Applications Are Now Closed
Thank you to the many teachers who expressed interest in working with us. Applications are now closed, and we will be in contact with candidates soon.
We are expanding our teaching staff at Off the Page, and we have openings in both Cambridge and Hemel Hempstead for full-time teachers. If you are passionate about history, love teaching in a creative way and are prepared to travel, you may be the person we are looking for.

Founded in Cambridge in 1996, Off the Page employs experienced teachers to bring history alive for primary school children.
From our bases in Cambridge and Hemel Hempstead, our teachers drive to schools throughout England. Once there, they create an immersive learning environment that uses drama, role-play and practical crafts to engage primary school children in historical events, science and other topics.
In addition, our virtual workshops allow schools to experience our hands-on teaching even when we cannot be there. Our teachers provide a live element to the workshops when requested, chatting with the children in character and in costume as a follow-up to the workshop’s learning.

Teaching Across Time … and Space

On any given day one of our teachers may be anything from a member of Pharaoh’s court in Ancient Egypt to a Home Guard volunteer helping evacuee children in the Second World War. When the school day finishes, the teachers return to base, clean/swap their history kits and prepare to do it all again.
A willingness to drive long distances and a clean driving record are both a must. There is also an element of lifting and carrying on all of our days. Overnight stays are sometimes required.
Successful candidates must be qualified primary teachers with at least three years’ experience in the classroom, ideally both in KS1 and KS2. They must also pass an enhanced DBS check. Off the Page is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. It expects all staff to share this commitment.
We particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups, including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
