Predators & Prey

Owls ~ Predators & Prey offers valuable learning opportunities through a combination of practical activities, imagination and hands on experience with natural materials.

Workshops

Science Off the Page will bring all the equipment and materials necessary to set up workshops in your hall. The main part of the day will be spent in dissecting owl pellets. This will be backed up by the use of specimens, other practical activities, games and audio-visual material. The workshops include:

  • Dissecting owl pellets
  • Media presentation
  • Work on adaptation and mutation
  • Clay eggs – an imaginative response to adaptation

(Our owl pellets are sterilised before they are brought into schools. View our risk assessment in a new tab.)

Predators and Prey adds a great deal to the study of science at Key Stage 2, and is an excellent way of revising and revisiting this topic.
